How the dates work
Four dates stand between buying a dividend stock and seeing the cash. Only one of them decides whether you get paid.
Questions
Which stocks go ex-dividend in June 2026?
157 of the US stocks and ETFs we cover go ex-dividend in June 2026, 157 of them on dates the companies have announced. The highest yields are Host Hotels & Resorts (HST, 16.47%), JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF (JEPI, 8.25%), Kimberly-Clark (KMB, 5.22%), iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF (TLT, 5.02%), Eastman Chemical (EMN, 4.99%).
What is an ex-dividend date?
It is the first day a stock trades without its next dividend. To be paid, you need to own the shares by the close of the trading day before. Buy on the ex-date or later and the seller keeps that payment.
If I buy a stock on the ex-dividend date, do I get the dividend?
No. You have to buy before the ex-date. Since US trades settle in one business day (May 2024), the ex-date and the record date are usually the same day, so the last day to buy is the trading day before.
How are the estimated dates calculated?
When a company has not announced its next date yet, we step forward from its last ex-dividend date by its usual rhythm — monthly, quarterly, twice a year or yearly — and move weekend dates to the Friday. Estimated dates are marked with a hollow dot and can move by a few days once the company announces them.
Covers the US stocks and ETFs with an analysis page on Portfolio Terminal. Confirmed dates come from company announcements via Yahoo Finance; estimated dates follow each company’s payment rhythm and can move by a few days. Yields use the latest dividend against the last price. Refreshed twice a day. Not investment advice.
